Jakari Amir Dent was born July 29, 2005 in Alton, IL to Toni Baskin and Walter Dent, III. He was a fifth grade student at East Elementary School. He occasionally attended church with his sister My’Iahna at Bread of Life Fellowship Church.
Kari, as was he affectionately called, accomplished: Living, Loving, and Caring! His pass time consisted of: spending a lot time with family, playing video games, sleep overs with his cousins, swimming, riding bikes, playing sports, and traveling. He was very exceptional, and was known for helping others.
On March 11, 2016 at 5:57 p.m. at St. Louis Children’s Hospital with his family at his side, Jakari received eternal rest.

Baskin of Alton; Paternal Grandparents, Veronica Marshall of Alton, Walter Lee Dent, Jr. of St. Louis, Mo; maternal great grandmother, Sarah Bell Taylor; Paternal Great Grandmothers, Hazel Dent and Loise Marshall; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom he loved and they loved him dearly.
