Terri Edwards

Jerseyville 05/19/2024

Terri Lynn Edwards, 62, passed away unexpectedly at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024 at her residence.

She was born in Carrollton, Illinois on July 13, 1961, one of six daughters born to Robert and Dorothy (Stringer) Green. She was raised in Carrollton and graduated with the Class of 1979 from Carrollton High School.

She married James Arthur Edwards on May 2, 1987, and together she and Jim raised their family in Jersey County, sharing in many wonderful memories together throughout their 36 years of marriage.

Terri spent her early years working as a Veterinarian Technician and later worked as a DCFS employee and Dental Lab Technician. Following the births of her children, she dedicated herself to being a loving and devoted mother. She was always there for every occasion, no matter how big or small, and spent many years as a room mother in their classrooms. She was also very involved in her church community and spent over 20 years volunteering in the church nursery as well as the children’s and youth ministries.

She was an extremely talented and gifted artist, with painting, woodworking and crafting as her specialties. She possessed an unrivaled attention to detail and took great pride in all of her projects from start to finish. Many of her artistic creations were showcased at open house Christmas events on the family’s property.

Following her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010, she slowly lost her ability to do many of the things that she loved, but she never let it dampen her spirit.

She will be fondly remembered by all who loved her for her genuine heart and her ability to make everyone she met feel special, loved and accepted.

Surviving are a son, Joshua Edwards of St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Marissa Edwards of St. Peters, Missouri; two step children, Scott (Marsha) Edwards of Bunker Hill and Jodi (Shane) Trometer of Conroe, Texas, along with their families; four sisters, Wanda (Bob) Nelson of Columbia, Missouri, Sharon Albrecht of Greenfield, Christi Green of Carterville and Kathy (Dave) Pate of Beardstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Edwards on July 16, 2023; her father, Robert Green; her mother, Dorothy Buschnell; a sister, Janet Becker as well as a step-daughter, Stacey Jackstadt.
