Theresa A. Disher-Kettelhake, 67, passed away surrounded by family at home at 5:10 am on Monday, June 10, 2024 in Bethalto, IL.
She was born on December 2, 1956 in Alton, Illinois to Richard and Stephanie (Fania) Disher.
She married Tim Wiemers on April 22, 2017 at Zion Lutheran in Bethalto. He survives.
Theresa always loved helping and taking care of others. She was so dedicated to this that she became a registered nurse. As a nurse, Theresa worked in a number of different departments and places but spent most of her career working for Gateway Regional Medical Center as a nursing supervisor. When Theresa wasn’t working and after retiring she enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Theresa had the biggest heart and she always did what she could to help anyone who may be in need.
Theresa is survived by her son, Justin (Stephanie Bertschinger) Kettelhake of Alton, IL; daughter, Mackenzie (Kyle Hahn) Kettelhake of Saint Charles, MO; grandchildren, Evan & Kira; sister, Angela (Randy) McDonough of Rockaway Beach, MO; as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Stephanie Disher; son, Jonathan Kettelhake; previous husband and close friend, Joseph F. Kettelhake; and siblings, Joyce Von Szilassy and Richard Disher.
Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11am at the funeral home.
Cremations rites to follow services.
