Dale Bailey

Dale L. Bailey, 82, died at 11:06 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 21, 1933 in Grafton, IL the son of the late Forrest “Hap” and Virginia M. (Wallace) Bailey. He was a supervisor for Canteen corporation and he co-owned/operated Bailey Vending and coffee for 23 years. On June 27, 1975 he married Nancy (Chappee) Bailey and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2015. Surviving are three daughters; Debra Hagerty (Mark) of Godfrey, Michelle McGiffen of Ocala, FL and Catherine Diddle (Tom) of Rector, Arkansas, two step children; Leslie Hruby of Alton and Andrew Hruby of Godfrey, twelve grandchildren; Travis, Jennifer, Mark, Mandy, Natalie, Melissa, Maggie, Lois, Adam, Nicole, Jacob and Daniel, numerous great grandchildren, one daughter in law; Marchia Bailey of Wentzville, MO, one brother; Bob Bailey (Janet) of Peoria, IL and one sister in law; Janet Bailey of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his first wife; Irene Bailey, one son; Michael Bailey, one grandchild; Mallory Hagerty and one brother; Stanley Bailey. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Fred Church officiating.
