Dolores Marie Hoffman, 95, died at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton. She was born July 12, 1920 in Hutchinson, Kansas the daughter of the late Orville and Helen (Bell) Boedy. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Jerseyville where she was a member of the Alter society. She was a charter member of the Homemakers Extension, a 4H Club leader and past member and president of the Jerseyville Woman’s Club, and a member of Jersey Co Health Department Advisory board. On October 7, 1939 in Godfrey she married Edward Hoffman and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1999. Surviving are three daughters; Nancy Dorris of Brighton, and Judith Mundy of Jerseyville, and Barbara McKay of Sadoris, IL five grandchildren; Michael Dorris (Karen) of Bloomington, IL, Scott Dorris of Godfrey, Diane Rogers (Ric) of Jerseyville, Chad McKay (Stephanie) of Terre Houte, IN and Amy McKay of Sadoris, IL, six great grandchildren; Matt Rogers, Brian Rogers, David Rogers, Megan Knuth (Kyle) Rachel Dorris and Jack Dorris. She was preceded in death by one brother; Donald Boedy, two sons-in-law; Jim Mundy and Gerald Dorris and one granddaughter; Jeanette Mundy. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Jerseyville with Father Gibbons to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Jersey County Health Department or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
