Dorothy Helen McCauley, 90, of Brighton, passed away on Sunday. June 23, 2024.
She was born on September 29, 1933, in Brighton, the daughter of the late John and Emmalina (Kuehnel) Farmer.

Dorothy married James McCauley on November 10, 1951, in Jerseyville. He preceded her in death.

She worked at B&K Café and McElroy Beeman Country Store. Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Brighton and volunteered at the church’s food pantry. She enjoyed playing cards and dice, and loved spending time with her family, they were her life.

Dorothy is survived by two children Marilyn Davis and Jim McCauley Jr; 4 grandchildren Jeremy McCauley, Eric McCauley, Courtney Davis, and Jodi (Bob) Wagener; seven great grandchildren Gage McCauley, Jett McCauley, Kane McCauley, Reece Davis, Peyton Custer, Gavin Custer, and Logan Custer; one great great grand daughter Avery King; brother John Farmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Emmalina; husband James; five sisters Marie Anders, Mary Wieland, Viola McCauley, Jessie Huber, and Anna Farmer; two brothers George Farmer and Harry Farmer.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
