JoAnn Bartels

JoAnn Bartels, 71, of Gillespie, IL, died at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 10:44 pm.  She was born July 9, 1952, in Staunton, IL to John W Carter & Viola L. Fones Carter.  She married Louis Bartels on July 11, 1970 in Mt. Olive, IL.  She was the office manager for Bartels Studio.  JoAnn enjoyed walking, the outdoors and her grandchildren.  She is survived by her spouse, Louis Bartels of Gillespie, IL, children, Crystal (companion, Michael Rekart) Bartels of Gillespie, IL, Louis "Buddy" (Danelle) Bartels of Mahomet, IL, grandchildren, Viola Stangle, Jayden Stangle, Rafe Stangle, Kameron Bartels, Marinne Bartels, Estella Bartels, sister, Jean Sies of Staunton, IL, sister in law, Nancy Carter.  JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Louis Bartels, brothers, William J. (Mary) Carter and John G.
