Joyce Rae Scheffel-Cooper, 86, of Brighton, IL, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024.
She was born on October 8, 1937, in Roodhouse, IL, the daughter of the late Virginia Fern Tucker. Joyce was raised by her grandparents Rollie and Lillian Tucker and her mother Virginia.
Joyce married Frank Guntren. Together they lovingly had and raised five children. She later married Harold Scheffel and helped raise and love three stepchildren. Prior to her death, Joyce was married to Bill Cooper.
She was a home maker who loved raising her family and being a farm wife. Joyce was great at interior design and crafting stained glass pieces.
She is survived by her children John (Susan) Guntren, F. Gordon Guntren, Susan (Breion) Crone, Jeffrey (Hope) Guntren, and David Guntren; three stepchildren Kim Baker (Jeff Black), Judy Scheffel (Joe Kaplan), and John Scheffel; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings Jerry Lawson and Robin Lawson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husbands; mother; grandparents and several siblings.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton, IL.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
