Laura Jeanette Peppers, 61, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2024.
Born March 16, 1963 in Wood River, she was a daughter of George and Janet K. (Underwood) Schimberg.
Laura worked for Broker Marketing Solutions. She was loved by everyone who met her, and strangers quickly became friends. She had a big heart and was selfless, constantly putting the needs of others before her own.
She is survived by her parents, George and Janet Schimberg of East Alton; her daughter Katie (Kevin Waltrip) Peppers of East Alton; two granddaughters, Emily and Lydia; her siblings, Jodi (David) Jaimes, Dani (Mark) Bacon, Brooke (Chance) Evans, Corey (Wendy) Ursch, and Cliff Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; 4 very close friends, Amy, Connie, Holly and Beth; and her daily visiting friend, Chester the squirrel, who came by for peanuts each day.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Eva Underwood.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 20 at the First Christian Church in Bethalto from 4 p.m. until services begin at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church.
