Mary “Cookie” Claire Howard, 69, passed away at 1:17 pm, Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.
She married Terry J. Howard Sr. on October 28, 1992, in Edwardsville. He survives.
She was born in East St. Louis on October 26, 1946, the daughter of Charles F. and Ellen C. (Donohue) Gawronski.
Mary was an LPN at Rosewood Care Center in Alton and worked as an LPN for over 20 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Lynnette (Frederick) Carpenter of Edwardsville, Charles (Gretchen) Gray of Texas City, Terry Howard Jr. and Julie Howard both of Cottage Hills; five grandchildren, Gabriel Carpenter, Katie Gray, Lauren Howard, TJ Howard and Sydney Gray.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Anthony “Tony” Gawronski.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Memorial can be made to the Hope Center in Cottage Hills.
