EDWARDSVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that due to inclement weather, the lane closures on eastbound Illinois 157 originally scheduled for today (July 3, 2024) have been postponed.

The work has been rescheduled to take place, weather permitting, on Monday, July 8.

Intermittent daytime lane closures will take place on eastbound Illinois 157 at American Legion Post #199 in Madison County, weather permitting, on Wednesday, July 3.

The lane closures are necessary for the evaluation of pavement conditions.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all signage and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
