Born on June 12, 1932, in Carlinville, IL, John was the son of James and Hazel (Hinthorne) Harrop. On June 27, 1953, he married Margaret Laird in East Alton, IL. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
