Charles Lorsbach

Jerseyville 06/22/2024

Charles Wayne (Butch) Lorsbach, Jr. (65) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at his home.

He was born on November 23, 1958, in Jerseyville, IL to the late Charles W. Sr. (Chuck) and Margaret (Squier) (Short) Lorsbach. Butch married his high school sweetheart, Melissa Ann (Gerecke) on August 11, 1979 and she survives.

He is also survived by his son CW (Christie) Lorsbach and daughter, Lauren (Dane) Droege. Along with his four grandsons; Bo, Riley (Lorsbach), Reed and Case (Droege). He is also survived by his sister, LuAnn Baalman.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Bo and Selma Lee Gerecke, along with this grandparents John and Lucille Lorsbach and CW (Bud) and Lois Squier.

Butch loved his family fiercely, Melissa unconditionally, but his love for his grandsons stretched beyond limits. He also enjoyed learning and tracing the genealogy of his family, along with Melissa’s family. He had a love for all Calhoun Warrior sports, his friends, and his community. Butch was helpful and extended his knowledge of all things to anyone who needed support, especially if you needed accounting advice. He loved having conversations about football, baseball, NASCAR, or the latest movie he had watched. If you ever rode anywhere with Butch, you would know he loved to critique everyone’s driving skills.

Per his wishes, there will be no visitation services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A memorial account will be set up at the Bank of Kampsville taking donations in order to support the students attending Calhoun Community School District.
