Edward T. Bobbs Jr., age 89, formerly of Alton, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Delmar Gardens on The Green in Chesterfield, MO.
He was born November 23, 1926, in Alton, the son of Edward T. and Ellen V. (Leuthner) Bobbs Sr. Edward served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran. He was part of the clean up operation on the Pacific Rim. Edward married Donna L. Davis on October 17, 1948, and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2013.
He was an Instrument Mechanic for Amoco Oil for thirty-seven years before retiring. Edward was a member of Alton VFW #1308. He was also a home builder, gardener and a hard worker. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Roselee Ellen and Dennis Antolik of Brighton, IL, Peggy Lynn and Paul MacDougall of Whitewater, MO; two sons and their spouses, Thomas Edward and Cheryl Bobbs of Bedford, IN, Donald Trent and Monica Bobbs of River Hills, WI; two sisters, Ramona Bunse of Godfrey, and Norma Wyers of FL; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Donna; he is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park with Military Rites provided by the Alton VFW Post #1308.
