Dennis L. Gernon, 70, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born June 26, 1945 in Flint, Mich., he was the son of Allison and Elizabeth Ruth (Carter) Gernon.
He married the former Clara L. “Rene” Cobb Nov. 27, 1987 in Hartford, Ill. She survives.
Denny was a double A machinist for McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing for 42 years. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Bethalto American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Allen (Ginny) Barlow of Delta, Mo., Brian (Deidre) Gernon of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Bobby Barlow of Bethalto; grandchildren Brady Barlow and his daughter McKayla Barlow, Courtney Barlow and her daughter Meika Dahl, Dalton Barlow, and Kaylin, Breanna, Elizabeth, Dayne and Hailey Gernon.
Visitation will be Monday, March 28 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 12 p.m. until services begin at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
