Homer L. Huff, 87 of Medora, died at 2:27 P.M. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Jerseyville Manor.
He was born on June 9, 1928 in Medora, Illinois to the late Lester J. & Tossie L. (Whitlock) Huff.
Homer married Margaret "Maggie" L. (Armstrong) Huff on October 28, 1955 in Greenfield, Illinois. Margaret died July 26, 2010.
He was an Army veteran, and also worked at Owens Glass Company until he retired. Homer and his wife catered, baked pies, cookies and made candy after his retirement. Also, Homer was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #1308, Tri County Rod and Gun Club, also was on the Medora Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. He loved to camp across the state of Illinois with 2 different Good Sam Camping Clubs and with friends.
Survivors include 1 daughter; Rhonda Huff of Medora, 1 son; Ronald Huff of Medora, 2 brothers; Bob Huff of Medora, Francis "Gene" Huff of Carlinville, 2 sister in laws; Geraldine Huff of Medora, June Huff of Godfrey, 1 brother in law; Ralph Long of Colorado
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Mary Frost, Edna Allen, Hazel Long, 4 brothers; Raymond, George, Harold and Billy Huff
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until noon on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Medora
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Medora
The Rev. Chuck Keene will officiate
Burial will take place at the Medora Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Southwestern Sports Booster or the Area Ambulance Service-Medora Unit.
