Virgilene "Virgie" I. Wiser, 79, passed away 3:15 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Alton Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Alton on September 19, 1936, she was the daughter of Virgil and Addie (St. John) Andrus.
She retired from the State of IL Department of Human Services.
Surviving are a grandson, Gary Wiser, II of Alton.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
