Virginia McCormick, 80, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 12, 2016 at her home in Red Rock, AZ.
She was born on March 23, 1935 in Alton, IL the daughter of Roy and Velma (Case) Mitts.
Virginia married Donald McCormick September 15, 1951 at the Presbyterian Church in Alton. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2015.
Virginia was a loving wife and partner with her husband Donald while he served in the Navy & Air Force living around the world. She was also a loving mother to 5 children. She enjoyed home bible studies, bowling, playing card games, and crocheting.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Donald R. (Mary) McCormick of Chicago, Robert E. (Denise) McCormick of Troy, MO, Wayne P. (Dawn) McCormick of Godfrey; two daughters, Linda I. Walker (Gary Claus) of Godfrey, Laura E. Overstreet of Red Rock, Arizona; one sister Betty Bauswell of Godfrey; seventeen grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; parents; son Charles Mark McCormick; and a sister Shirley Foote of TX.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 am at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
